ABOUT BRANTLEY

From improving our infrastructure to alleviating traffic, from advancing major flooding mitigation projects to rescuing our troubled recycling center, and from repaving neighborhood roads to working tirelessly on the revitalization of West Ashley – Brantley Moody has made significant progress for District 7 in his first two terms on County Council. And his efforts have earned him the title of "Best County Council Member" in 2021 and 2022.

The best part – Brantley has kept his promises and delivered these results without ever raising taxes!

While it may be surprising to many that an elected official kept his word and fulfilled his first campaign pledges, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that Brantley did.

That’s because commitment, loyalty and service have always guided Brantley.

Brantley was born and raised in Drayton-on-the-Ashley. He played ball at St. Andrews Playground and spent his summers swimming and boating in the Ashley River.

He attended Springfield Elementary and Wallace Middle School. After graduating from Middleton High School, Brantley earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Carolina with a double major in Finance and Real Estate, before earning an M.B.A. from The Citadel.
A graduate of the South Carolina Banker’s College, Brantley has assisted hundreds of small businesses to start, grow, or expand their operations in his over 25-year career as a commercial banker.

Committed to our community, Brantley has served in leadership of the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, The Charleston Regional Development Alliance, The Education Foundation, the Workplace Institute for Educators, Junior Achievement, and the St. Andrew’s Rotary Club. For his work to better our area, Brantley was named a “40 Under 40” leader by the Charleston Regional Business Journal.
With his wife, Julie, Brantley has raised their three children in West Ashley and has actively supported their children’s dance, swimming, baseball, and tennis endeavors in the community.

Brantley attends John Wesley United Methodist Church, where he has served as the Treasurer, Finance Chairman, and past Chairman of the Administrative Council.

The Moody family has a proud history of service to the community. Brantley’s brother, Brian, served three terms on the Charleston County School Board and his father, Bill, served two terms on Charleston City Council.
In short, Brantley will always work to make progress for for his constituents because that is the kind of person he is.

With our ongoing support, Brantley will continue to be the results-driven, common-sense, business-minded County Councilman we always count on.
